"Bobby" Joe Harper is the son of
"Marvin" H. Harper, Sr.
and
"Minnie" Belle Brooks Harper. He was born on July
26, 1927 in Pemiscot County, Steele, Missouri. "Bobby" Joe  
Harper lived at home until the age of 18 when he joined the
air force on January 17, 1946 at Camp Joseph T. Robinson
in Little Rock, Arkansas. While in the air force "Bobby" Joe
 Harper served in Germany in the occupational army. Once
discharged from the service "Bobby" Joe Harper returned
home to Pemiscot County, Steele, Missouri and finished high
school at South Pemiscot High School. After graduating
from high school "Bobby" Joe Harper started going to
college at Trevecca Nazarene College located in Nashville,
Tennessee to study divinity. It was while he was in college in
Nashville, Tennessee that "Bobby" Joe Harper met "Bessie"
Juanita Henry, born April 29, 1936, while attending church
at Inglewood Church of the Nazarene in Nashville,
Tennessee. After approximately a two year courtship
"Bobby" Joe Harper married "Bessie" Juanita Henry,
daughter of "Melvin" Lee Henry (1917 - 1994) and Willie
"Mai" Woodard Henry (1921 - 2001), on July 26, 1953 at
Inglewood Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee.
Bobby and Bessie Harper still attend Inglewood Church of
the Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee. After getting married
Bobby and Bessie Harper set up their home in Nashville,
Tennessee where they still live.

Bobby and Bessie Harper had two children: 1) Melvin
"LeRoy" Harper (Named after his grandfather Melvin Lee
Henry and his uncle Roy Winfield Harper, hence Melvin
Lee and Roy Harper combined to be Melvin LeRoy
Harper.) who was born on October 23, 1958 at Saint Thomas
Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee and 2) Richard (Ricky)
Allen Harper (Named after his uncle Larry Allen Henry)
who was born on March 2, 1961 at Saint Thomas Hospital in
Nashville, Tennessee.

The oldest son of "Bobby" Joe Harper and "Bessie" Juaita
Henry, Melvin "LeRoy" Harper married "Barbara" Ellen
Mc Kay, born March 8, 1956, on July 15, 1989, the daughter
of Clifford "Frank" Mc Kay and Dawnlyn (Dawn) Faye
Loeshe. The wedding of LeRoy and Barbara Harper was
held at Two Rivers Mansion in Nashville, Tennessee.

On July 30, 1991 LeRoy and Barbara Harper had a
daughter, "Chelsea" Nicole Harper who was born at Baptist
Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
